Concert of Arjun Verma and Florian Schiertz – Spring 2019
Kampa Theater, Nosticova 2a, Prague Date: 18 April 2019 During their second joint performance in the Czech Republic sitarist Arjun Verma, accompanied by Florian Schiertz on tabla and Eva Hlinková on tampura, performed two Hindustani rāgas – Madhuvanti (late afternoon rāga) and Kaunsi Kanada (late night rāga), each of them approximately 40 minutes long. In the end, the heavy contemplative mood of the second rága was lightened by a short melodic encore, which resonated in the hearts of audience for several hours. The concert was financially supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and by the Municipality of Prague 1 district.
